What led you to a career in tech?
I was lucky to be surrounded by technology always and my Dad encouraged us to be curious thinkers. That has led me to pursue my education which led to my career in Tech (Masters in Cyber Security, Bachelors in Information Technology from India, and MBA in Marketing from California State University East Bay).
I am a student for life - a lifelong learner. If I had my way, I would continue to learn forever.
I had the opportunity to drive 10+years of product marketing initiatives in startups and Fortune 500 technology companies.
Before: my days were all about meetings at work. Now, since I left my job in Nov 2021, I have been more mindful with my calendar and dedicate my day for mentoring, writing and teaching product marketing. I also have time blocked for my walk to remember which is crucial for my mental wellbeing.
Advice to your younger self?
- Remember to focus on your happiness.
- Don’t chase success based on what others think.
- Define success on your own terms.
If you could invite anyone to join the Black Valley community, who and why?
I would invite folks who are looking for a community to belong and support each other to be their best selves.
Thank you for this opportunity to be a Mentor at Black valley community.
